Privacy policy
What Qrissa collects, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: we collect what we need to run your codes, and we don’t sell any of it.
Last updated October 11, 2026
If you make a code without an account
A static code is generated in your browser. The link, Wi-Fi password, contact details, or other content you type isn’t sent to our servers, and we keep no copy of the code you download.
If you ask to be notified
If you leave your email address to hear about a launch, we store the address and which form you used. We use it to email you about that launch. Write to us and we’ll remove it.
If you have an account
We store:
- Your email address and sign-in details. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google.
- The codes you save: their content, design, name, and any logo you upload.
- For dynamic codes: the destination, and the pages or files you ask us to host.
- Your plan and billing history. Card details go straight to our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.
- Messages you send us.
When someone scans a dynamic code
A scan passes through our short link, so we record it for the code’s owner. For each scan we store:
- The date and time.
- The approximate location, as a country and city worked out from the IP address.
- The device type and operating system, from the browser’s user agent.
- A scrambled identifier, so we can tell a repeat scan from a new scanner without knowing who the person is.
We don’t store the full IP address with the scan, we don’t use tracking cookies on scanners, and we don’t try to identify them. Code owners see totals and breakdowns, never an individual’s details.
Static codes never touch our servers when scanned, so we know nothing about those scans.
How we use it
- To run the service: saving codes, redirecting scans, hosting pages, and showing analytics.
- To bill you, and to email you about your account, such as before a trial ends or a code is paused.
- To keep the service safe, including finding and stopping codes that lead to phishing or malware.
- To improve Qrissa, using combined figures that don’t identify anyone.
We don’t sell personal data, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Only the companies that help us run Qrissa: hosting, database, payment, and email providers. Each one handles data on our instructions. We also share data if the law requires it, or if the business is sold, in which case this policy continues to apply.
Cookies and browser storage
We use only what the site needs: a cookie to keep you signed in, and browser storage for preferences such as light or dark mode. There are no advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
- Account data: until you delete your account.
- Dynamic codes and their scan data: until you delete them, or 30 days after a plan ends without being reactivated.
- Billing records: as long as tax law requires.
Your choices
You can see, correct, export, or delete your data, and you can close your account, at any time in Settings or by writing to us. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, such as objecting to certain uses or complaining to a data protection authority.
Write to privacy@qrissa.com and we’ll answer within 30 days.
Children
Qrissa isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that affects you, we’ll email you before the change applies. Qrissa, [Company address].
